Just read it!

After listening to some really awesome talks on the Bible by Mike Reeves at the end of last week (check them out here - http://thebluefish.org/2008/11/transformision-2008.html) I was really challenged to just read the Bible. In other words, to just take the plunge and read long sections, page after page, in order to see who really God is. And to ultimately let God change my heart!

Since the beginning of the week, I've read pretty much all the Psalms (I started at about Psalm 40, I think) and I've nearly made my way through Proverbs. And just highlighted key verses that really spoke to me. And I can kind of feel all the lies the devil's been wrapping my heart in, just dissolve away.

It's so easy for us to lose the big picture. To stop seeing God as he really is. But the Bible wants to fill our minds with truth.

In depth study is so important, but so is just sitting back and seeing all history and eternity by God's truth.

...so I suggest giving it a go. Don't try and study the Bible. Certainly don't try and find something that you need to do. Don't even try and complete a certain amount a day. Just read! And find that God changes your perspective and your heart. And makes you more hungry for Him.
